History in a Jar

Kyle was deployed  to Germany this summer for a month (it was the longest month of my life) for the Air Force.  He was able to do a bit of sight seeing on his trip. Luxenberg, Normandy, France, and much more. Kyle had the chance to visit Omaha beach in Normandy , which was one location and battle ground during WWII and the Invasion of Normandy, June 6th 1944 (D-Day).  Sadly, this beach is now known as “Bloody Omaha” because of the 2,200 casualties suffered by the American troops who landed here on D-Day. While he was there he collected sand as a souvenir. When he got home I suggested placing the sand in unique glass jars and making tags them.  This was literally a $5.00 project and it makes for a memorable trip and a historic piece of art.
