Don’t judge a book by its cover?

Classic Series 1I totally break the rule when it comes to not judging a book by its cover.  For example, I just recently came across these Penguin cloth-bound classic series books… that I’m crazy about (Mainly because of the colors and designs)!!! These incredible book covers are designed by senior cover designer, Coralie Bickford-Smith.  Design*sponge had the opportunity to have a interview with Coralie all about her projects, her work and where she finds her inspirations.

Her designs are on the covers of many classic novels such as:  Sense and Sensibility, The Odyssey, Pride and Prejudice, Oliver Twist, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights and  much more! This is definitely NOT a book review, but what I like most about these books is it acts as a great eye catching feature on a book shelf and really can give a room character.

Besides the Classic Series collection, Coralie’s hardback books  include: Arabian Nights, Fairy Tales and Poems, and Penguin’s poems for love. Another one of my favorite collections that she has is Boys’ Adventure… these adventure tales are greatly designed with detail on each cover!! For a while her book were only available in the UK – that is until last month’s US-release!  I found that you can purchase her books for a reasonable price on Amazon.
