I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!! I sure did! Did you get all the things you asked for or didn’t ask for? (Yes, I’m sarcastically referring to those random pair of socks or that gift you can really do without). I really am going to miss all the Christmas music and decorations that are up! That is definitely one of my favorite parts of the season. This year I got an idea of what it will be like to share the Holidays with both sides of the family. Kyle and I drove to Milwaukee to spend Christmas with my family then we drove back home to Minneapolis, stayed for a couple of days, and then back on the road for Bismarck to spend New Years with his family (need I mention its freezing cold in North Dakota, I don’t know how people stay alive here in such weather). Between Christmas and New Years, Kyle and I will have driven 26 hours in a car. Did YOU do any traveling during the Holidays? Where to?
2011 is right around the corner and I’m so exited to start this year!! I’m sure many of you have already set a few of your New Years resolutions, what are they?… here is a few of mine:
Have a Happy New year!!!!!
1. Visit Knack Studios: I have wrote about this small business for a while now, I love their work! I have communicated with the owner, Barb, through e-mail and she seems so sweet! I would love to be able to meet her in person and gain some insight into how she started her business. What a day would that be!
2. Attend a service at New Spring Church: I heard about New Spring Church and Pastor Perry Noble a while ago at my current church here in MN. Since then I have become a fan and daily downloaded their podcasts. To actually attend a service rather than listening to it in my car…. would make a perfect Sunday! (If you get a chance… check out their video services).
3. To walk Liberty Bridge: I have seen pictures of this bridge located downtown Greenville, SC. It has a curved clear span over the Reedy river that curves away from the falls. Beautiful DAY and NIGHT!
4. Downtown Greenville: In any city big or small it nice to see all the buildings, restaurant, and shops. Here are some pictures of downtown Greenville.
5. For the year round great weather: The weather there now is 56 degrees!!! Not too hott or too cold!! Anything is better than Minnesota in January (Picture from Jan 28th snowy Minneapolis).
One of these days I’ll make sure to get there. It seems like a great place!!!! Have you ever been there? Let me know what you think…
I’m guessing this is the day most of you have waited for… it’s the start of the weekend, the day that spells out relaxation, or the day to throw some of your daily concerns aside. Well thats what I have waited for, TODAY! I don’t have any exciting plans this weekend and to honestly the person I like to spend my weekends with (Kyle) is busy with AF training. So I predict it to be a relaxing and quiet weekend… I’m really looking forward to it.
Well my readers, I apologize I do not have any fancy pictures up or any before & after’s… today I just want you to have a good Friday and a good weekend. What are your plans!? Anything exciting OR anything extremely boring!? I’d like to know what you’re going to do to wind-down… See you Monday!!!
I’ll leave you with some vintage sorting cabinets! These were just recently featured on Ohhellofriend and are originally from Factory 20. Check out these two sites over the weekend and let me know what you think (this should give you something to do!). ENJOY!!!

I would have to say in most things I’m pretty traditional. Especially when it comes to weddings and the customs that have been practiced over many generations. I do in fact like to twist things around… I mean I’m not stickler to tradition, because at times I do have my own ways and ideas of doing things. China is, traditionally, the centerpiece of any wedding registry. The term “China” is used to describe dinnerware and dishes. Some different types of china include bone china, porcelain, stoneware, and earthenware. Bone china is the best china and along with porcelain, is considered fine china. Stoneware and earthenware are examples of casual china.
INTRODUCING: The Lenox Chirp Collection, from Macy’s. Ooooh how I LOVE it more and more each time I look at it. This is the China that I want (unless something else sweeps me off my feet). There are many pros to registering for elegant tableware… it is uniquely your style, it can add a great touch to a home as home decor, and it’s a big investment which makes it more valuable to you. It’s crazy to think that just the small mug in this set costs $36! Being that this collection is bone china it is guaranteed to be chip-resistant, with a life time breakage warranty (Crazy huh!?)… it becomes something I can keep forever, maybe pass along to my children one day.
If this is your season for buying China, there is an article on the Knot that gives good advice for registering for formal china and everyday dishes. Oh and don’t worry I don’t hear any wedding bells soon, it’s just nice to dream a little.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Today was my last day of freedom!!! By that I mean no more sleeping in OR bumming around OR movie marathons. I start work tomorrow bright and early and classes start on Wednesday. From there I will only have late nights of homework, followed by baggy eyes and no motivation to workout. OKay so I’m being REALLY dramatic… I’ll get off my soap box (really life is not that bad). I’m actually a bit excited to get this semester over with, after this I only have one more semester and I’m DONE! So I plan to be a good student, girlfriend and woman of God! Yea 2010!
I decided to spend this day with the one and only… Kyle! Little did I know that this day was not the best day for both of us. It was cold and slushy. We were both groggy and tired. Deep inside I didn’t want this long break to end and I’m sure Kyle wanted to play video games with his buddies… and despite my need to plan every little thing, we had no plan of what to do (which makes for a lot of wasted hours). Don’t you ever have those days? Lets just say God made men and women intrinsically different and it’s my goal to figure Kyle out (wait… is that possible?).
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for better day. We both came to a point where we turned our “reality” into “actuality” and decided to make the best of the day! We spend our afternoon at Half Price Books and we took a small stroll in Minnihaha Park, followed dinner. Not bad eh?
*This song, is one of my favorites! It just reminds me of my day with Kyle and the journey that our relationship has lead us! Enjoy…
So today was a great day!!! I started off with church in the morning, it was Vision Sunday! Pastor Trent spoke about how we each have our purpose here on earth. As Christians were are to be the light, making an impact in the world for the Lord. He talked about the 5 qualities of people who have impact… Compassion, Generosity, Discontent, Devotion to God, and people of unexpected servanthood. Not sure how else to explain, but this verse does the job…
“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage… You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.
God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven”. -Matthew 5-13-16
Church was followed by a delicious lunch at Kyle’s aunt’s and uncle’s house. It was nice to know I’m still on break… especially since school starts in 3 days. Uggggh!!! Well I must not focus on that since the day is still young (no need to sulk about school). Well I hope you all had a great weekend… it comes and goes by so fast. Take care!
